Kukkiwon has begun accepting registrations for the 2026 World Taekwondo Hanmadang (hereafter the Hanmadang).

The Hanmadang will be held at Kukkiwon for five days from Saturday, August 1 to Wednesday, August 5.

Since its establishment in 1992, the Hanmadang has served as the premier festival and competition event for the global Taekwondo community. Hosted annually by Kukkiwon, except between 2020 and 2022, the event has attracted approximately 70,000 participants to date.

The registration period is from Thursday, June 4, to Tuesday, June 30. Applications can be submitted on the Hanmadang website (hanmadang.kukkiwon.or.kr).

This year’s Hanmadang will be held in a total of 15 events and 170 divisions, adding exhibition and demonstration events in addition to the official events.

To encourage greater participation among seniors, this Hanmadang has introduced a new color belt Poomsae demonstration event that does not require a Dan certificate. Additionally, the Recognized Poomsae and Power Breaking events have been divided into two age categories: Master I (69 years old and under) and Master II (70 years old and over).

Additionally, the newly added Breaking Poomsae (Team) exhibition event offers participants even more diverse competition opportunities.

Participants who have completed their registration must pay the participation fee by card between Wednesday, July 1, and Sunday, July 5.

Meanwhile, Kukkiwon held the inaugural meeting of the 2026 World Taekwondo Hanmadang Organizing Committee on Wednesday, May 6, and has commenced full-scale preparations, including the formation of the organizing committee.
