The Kukkiwon World Taekwondo Academy (WTA) is hosting the “2026 International Taekwondo Master Course for Foreigners (hereafter referred to as the Course)” in Malaysia.

Around 150 Taekwondo instructors from the local area and neighboring countries are expected to participate in this Course, which will be held from Thursday, May 28 to Sunday, May 31 at the Sepaktakraw Academy located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The WTA conducts the International Taekwondo Master Course to train foreign instructors with professional expertise and personal development, and to promote the spirit and standardized techniques of Taekwondo.

In particular, this Course marks the first overseas training directly hosted and organized by the WTA, departing from the traditional method of collaborating with local organizations.

Starting with this Course, the WTA plans to further enhance the quality and operational transparency of overseas training and to firmly establish Kukkiwon's standardized education system worldwide.

The 4-day course, starting with the opening ceremony, is diversely structured to cultivate professional knowledge. It includes not only practical training such as basic Taekwondo movements, Poomsae, and sparring, but also covers the spirit and history of Taekwondo, as well as the theory behind Poom/Dan promotion tests.

Kukkiwon President Yun Ung-suk expressed his aspirations, stating, “This International Taekwondo Master Course in Malaysia will be a valuable opportunity for Taekwondo instructors in the Southeast Asian region to directly experience Kukkiwon‘s strict and systematic educational standards. We will continue to sequentially roll out overseas training programs led by the WTA in the future.”

Meanwhile, the WTA plans to hold International Taekwondo Master Courses directly hosted and organized by them in Germany this September and in India this November.
