Kukkiwon President Yun Ung-suk has received an honorary doctorate from the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sport.

At 11:00 AM (local time) on April 13, Rector Rashid Matkarimov presented the honorary doctorate to President YYun Ung-suk at the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sport.

The conferment of this honorary doctorate was arranged to express gratitude for President Yun Ung-suk’s continuous dedication to the development of Taekwondo, as well as the close cooperation and support between Kukkiwon and the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sport.

Furthermore, Kukkiwon has dispatched overseas master Baek Mun-jong to Uzbekistan since 2014, significantly contributing to the expansion of the Taekwondo base not only at the State University of Physical Education and Sport but also throughout the local community.

Following the degree conferment ceremony that day, President Yun Ung-suk presented an honorary 6th Dan certificate to Rector Rashid Matkarimov. Both institutions then shared a meaningful moment reaffirming their mutually cooperative relationship.

President Yun Ung-suk stated, “The honorary doctorate from the Uzbek State University of Physical Education and Sport goes beyond personal glory; it is an achievement accomplished together by Kukkiwon and Taekwondo.” He added, “Going forward, we will further strengthen our cooperation with Uzbekistan and other Central Asian regions, and we will continue our efforts for the development and spread of Taekwondo’s values.”
