Kukkiwon President Dong-sup Lee Discusses Supporting the Establishment of the International Taekwondo Academy with National Assembly Member Ho-yeong Ahn

Discussion held on November 8 (Tue) at 11am in the President’s Office

Kukkiwon President Dong-sup Lee met National Assembly Member Ho-yeong Ahn (The Democratic Party of Korea, Wanju, Jinan, Muju, Jangsu) and discussed plans to support the establishment of the International Taekwondo Academy.

During the 30-minute discussion held on November 8 (Tue) in the president’s office, Kukkiwon President Dong-sup Lee promised to fully support and cooperate with the establishment of the International Taekwondo Academy which has been planned to be built in Muju, Jeollabuk-do Province.

“We must build this International Taekwondo Academy in order to develop and train global Taekwondo practitioners and professionals from around 210 countries across the world where the martial art is practiced. Kukkiwon will review plans to support the project such as ways to secure the necessary budget and so on, from various angles” said President Lee.

“I want to thank President Lee sharing this purpose for building the International Taekwondo Academy and we will cooperate with each other to the best of our abilities to move this project at full speed.” said National Assembly Member Ahn.

On March 9 Tue), 2021, Kukkiwon had signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Muju County on cooperation in the establishment of the International Taekwondo Academy.
