Kukkiwon Enters Master Agreements for Installation of Offices with 14 National Associations
To expand the special purpose projects to install offices at national associations around the world…Expected to add 28 more countries by the end of the year
Kukkiwon entered into the master agreements for installation of offices with 14 national associations around the world.
Kukkiwon has been actively promoting the establishment of offices since February of the year to address the need for an overseas organization that can closely cooperate to carry out special purpose projects overseas and to enhance the value of Poom and Dan.
After identifying the current status and policy of Taekwondo distribution to national associations, Kukkiwon first selected countries with a high intention to establish an office and a high possibility of implementation, and started to sign a master agreement prescribing basic principles, agreements, and effects.
After detailed consultation with 42 national associations, they completed the agreements with seven countries in Asia (Iran, Jordan, Kuwait, Philippines, Cambodia, Kyrgyzstan and Taiwan), three countries in Europe (UK, Cyprus and France), three Pan-America countries (Nicaragua, Venezuela and Dominican Republic), and one country in Oceania (New Zealand).
Kukkiwon plans to enter into the master agreements even with the national associations in 28 countries, which are now under discussion.
Each national associations which enters into the master agreement must organize ‘Kukkiwon Commission’ in a year.
When the national association that will have organized the Commission with Kukkiwon after determining the specific delegation scope of various projects signs additional business agreement including detailed terms and conditions, the installation of an office will be finally completed.
The office will cooperate with Kukkiwon to secure the fairness of examination and improve qualitative value.
In addition to educational projects such as the development of field-oriented training programs and seminars for leaders, competitions and events will be also promoted to provide a venue for competitions to motivate and communicate with taekwondo trainees.
