Lee Dong-sup, President of Kukkiwon, signed a business agreement with Kim Seong-gon, President of the Overseas Koreans Foundation.

At 5PM on Wednesday, October 20 in the Onyx Room on the 32nd floor of Lotte Hotel World, Kukkiwon and the Overseas Koreans Foundation held a business agreement ceremony with the presence of President Lee Dong-sup and Spokesperson Song Ha-chil from Kukkiwon, and President Kim Seong-gon, Managing Director Jeong Gwang-il, Planning Director Lee Yeong-geun, Hansang Network Project Manager Kang Mo-se from the Overseas Koreans Foundation.

Kukkiwon and the Overseas Koreans Foundation shared sentiments about the necessity to inspire national pride and to promote exchanges between Koreans at home and abroad through Taekwondo, and agreed to cooperate and support each other.

Through this agreement, the two organizations agreed to share information through mutual networks to promote Taekwondo at home and abroad; to cooperate with domestic and overseas Taekwondo-related events held by the Overseas Koreans Foundation; to collaborate in developing new projects and education/training programs to promote Taekwondo for overseas Koreans; to support Kukkiwons overseas branch revitalization; and to encourage mutual development and understanding in goodwill.

At the signing ceremony, President Lee Dong-sup said, I am confident that Kukkiwons efforts to promote Taekwondo in the world will gain more momentum through this business agreement with the Overseas Koreans Foundation. I hope that the agreement will be of service to the expansion for Kores representative brand Taekwondo, and cement the Korean solidarity among 7.5 million overseas Koreans.

Amid the Korean Wave or Hallyu has gained the global popularity, I think Taekwondo, the pioneer of Hallyu, is at the very center of the Hallyu. I hope that this agreement will serve as an opportunity for the two organizations to cooperate and make a contribution to raise our nations dignity, President Kim Seong-gon then said.

Meanwhile, the Overseas Koreans Foundation has been hosting the 19th World Korean Business Convention, where Hansang Network Project and Korean entrepreneurs working across the globe gathered for Koreans global business networking at Lotte Hotel World for three days from October 19 (Tuesday). Kukkiwons Taekwondo Demonstration Team performed a stage performance to express its congratulations.
