Kukkiwon hires Taekwondo masters to be dispatched to 13 countries around the world.

The thirteen countries include six Asian countries (Bhutan, Turkmenistan, East Timor, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates), one European country (Portugal), two Central American countries (Guatemala, and El Salvador), three African countries (Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, and Sudan) and one Oceanian country (Fiji).

Contrary to the existing method, to reflect the result of the demand survey for the countries to which masters will be dispatched and send highly skilled masters by each field of Taekwondo, the method of hiring masters to be dispatched is implemented in two types: Type A Master for leading a national team (Gyeorugi-centered instruction) and Type B Master for instructing soldiers, police, and field leaders (Poomsae and demonstration-centered instruction).

Type A masters will be dispatched to eight countries (Bhutan, Turkmenistan, East Timor, Guatemala, Egypt, Equatorial Guinea, Sudan, and Fiji) and Type B masters will be dispatched to five countries (Portugal, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and El Salvador).

Applicants can apply for desired countries between Type A and Type B countries and may submit cross-applications as well.

One master per country will be hired and the qualification requirements include those under the age of 45; holders of the Kukkiwon Taekwondo 5th Dan or higher, Master certificate, sports instructor certificate (for Taekwondo), and those without falling under any reasons such as restrictions on issuance of passports, prohibition of departure, and so on.

The masters to be dispatched overseas will receive base pays, various bonuses and allowances, rents, school expenses for children (family allowances only for concerned persons), airfares (upon initial dispatch, for maintenance education), and moving expenses (upon initial dispatch), vacation benefit expenses, and severance pays and the contract may be renewed every two years after their one-year activities depending on performance appraisal.

The application period will start on May 18 (Mon) and end at 4:00 PM on June 5 (Fri) and applications will be accepted only by email (dispatchtkd@gmail.com), not by post or drop-off.

Kukkiwon will announce the applicants who pass the first screening process (career paper and video) on June 12 (Fri) and conduct the second screening process (career paper, interview, foreign language, and practical techniques) on June 18 (Thu).

The accepted applicants are scheduled to be dispatched after July due to the aftermath of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).

For more information on hiring masters to be dispatched overseas, please refer to Kukkiwon website (www.kukkiwon.or.kr).

Now, Kukkiwon has dispatched a total of 41 masters (one per country, two in Indonesia) to 40 countries (17 Asian countries, 5 African countries, 7 Central American countries, and 11 European countries) around the world.
