|[ Etc ] Kukkiwon Fundraises to Overcome COVID-19|
Kukkiwon leads fundraising events to help Taekwondo instructors who find management hard due to COVID-19.
While the entire world is suffering due to economic downturns, Kukkiwon decided to fundraise in the hope to normalize Taekwondo education as soon as possible by lending a helping hand for sharing.
The first donor is Son Cheon-taek, the Acting President of Kukkiwon. He donated 10,000,000 won.
Acting President Son said, ¡°while there have been economic downturns and COVID-19 is making things harder, I really feel sorry for Taekwondo masters and their families,¡± and went on, ¡°I decided to donate as I hoped to share the suffering of the families so that they could overcome the current crisis and regain their liveliness.¡±
In December last year, he donated 10,000,000 won for scholarship to help future Taekwondo masters whose families need help or whose abilities for education are highly appreciated.
Employees of Kukkiwon, in order to join Acting President Son¡¯s fundraising effort, decided to donate a certain amount of their salaries.
Kukkiwon plans to spend the donated money for Taekwondo masters and their exercise dojangs where there are economic hardships from COVID-19 and will open the spending statements transparently later.
