|[ Etc ] Kukkiwon Conducts Its First Personnel Reshuffle Since the Inauguration of President Choi Young-Ryul|
Kukkiwon President Choi Young-Ryul conducted the first personnel reshuffle since taking over the office.
The order for personnel reshuffle was conducted on December 2 (Mon). The major feature was reshuffling from the existing system of 1 office, 3 bureaus, 1 institute, and 7 divisions, which was centered on secretary general, to 1 office, 4 headquarters, 1 institute, and 10 teams getting rid of secretary general.
The organizational chart is now composed as follows: 1 office is Strategy and Planning Office (Planning Team, PR Team); 4 headquarters are Management Support Headquarters (Human Resources Team, General Affairs and Accounting Team, Computer Issuance Team), Business Headquarters (Domestic Business Team, International Business Team), Demonstration Team Operating Headquarters (Operating Team), Education Headquarters of the World Taekwondo Academy (Educational Policy Team, Education and Training Team); and 1 institute is Research Institute of Taekwondo.
The Acting Director General Kim Min-tae of the Operating Management Bureau will take the position of deputy minister of Strategy and Planning Office, Deputy Minister Lee Jong-gap of Planning and Conciliation Office will take the position of director general of Management Support Headquarters, Acting Secretary General Kim Il-seop will take the position of the Deputy Minister of Demonstration Team Operating Headquarters, Director General Bang Man-gyu will take the position of Deputy Minister of Education Headquarters, and Senior Researcher Seo Jin-Gyo will take the position of principal researcher of the Research Institute of Kukkiwon.
Furthermore, Acting Director General Heo Jung-Haeng, who was in charge of administrative work along with the demonstration team at the Secretary’s Office, will perform the duty of chief secretary, and PR secretary will be newly installed, thereby strengthening the administrative work including internal and external PR related to the president.
Acting Director General Yu Gyeong-sik of the Business Division will bear the duty of Planning Team, Acting Director General Kim Hong-cheol of Planning and PR Division will bear the duty of PR Team, Director Lee Yong-hui of Education Business Division will bear the duty of Human Resources Team, Director Choe Hui-jin of Legal Support Division will bear the duty of General Affairs and Accounting Team, and Director Jo Min-ho of Computing Division will bear the duty of team leader for the Computer Issuance Team.
Director General of Audit and Operation Division will bear the duty of Domestic Business Team, Director Na Young-jib of Communication Education Division will bear the duty of International Business Team, Acting Director General Lee Jae-Don of General Affairs Division will bear the duty of Demonstration Team Operating Team, Director General Lee Gyeong-suk of Education Development Division will bear the duty of Education Policy Team, Director General Kim Sun-i of Education Business Division will bear the duty of team leader for the Education and Training Team, and Director Choi Sang-Hwan of Management Division will take the position as the acting senior researcher for the Research Institute of Taekwondo.
President Choi Young-Ryul expressed his thoughts, “This personnel reshuffle was mainly focused on stabilizing the system through rotation of deputy ministers and director generals and capability building of middle-management executives, while at the same time revitalizing the organization of Kukkiwon,” and added, “I will implement businesses which would fit the visions and policies that I had announced at the Inauguration Ceremony and plan to gradually supplement personnel policies.”
Meanwhile, the vacant positions are deputy minister of Business Headquarters, director of Research Institute of Taekwondo, and secretary of PR, and will be filled sometime later in the future.
